Student-information limits on AI training
The enacted change prohibits covered K–12 operators from knowingly using covered student information to train generative AI or develop AI systems. The statute’s scope and exceptions apply.
Who and what it covers
Operators and entities working for them with actual knowledge of K–12 use and services designed or marketed for K–12. The statutory operator definition excludes schools and LEAs.
